Ingredients :-
- Moong Dal (green gram) 150 grams
- Milk 200 ml
- Water 100 ml
- Sugar 100 grams
- Desi Ghee (Oil) 100 ml
- Semolina (rava , suji) 50 grams
- Pistachios 8 to 10
- Almonds 8 to 10
- Saffron (kesar) 6-7 threads
Instant Moong dal halwa recipe in english :
- First of all you have to wash all moong dal , for this you have to take a strainer and put dal in the strainer and add some water over it.
- Rub the dal with your hands and remove excess of starch and impurities from it.
- After washing the dal properly keep it on a long and dry cloth (towel type) to make your dal dry. Try to dry the dal as much as possible.
- Now what you have to do is to heat a pan on medium flame and put all your dried dal into it. Roast it for 5 to 7 minutes and turn the gas flame off after it.
- Keep your roasted dal aside for cooling for 30 minutes so that we can grind it later. Also take 200 ml milk into a glass and add 6-7 saffron threads into it, also keep it aside. Saffron will give your halwa a great taste and also a better colour.
- After 30 minutes grind the roasted dal coarsely. Don't grind it finely. Grind the dal slowly slowly and check it regularly to prevent it from fine grinding , then keep it aside.
- Heat a pan on low flame and add 100 ml desi ghee into it along with pistachios and almonds. Roast it gently for 1 minute , then take it out and chop it finely.
- Once you get this done add 50 grams semolina in the same leftover pan of desi ghee on low flame. Also add our grinded dal into it and stir it regularly for 12 to 15 minutes on low flame properly otherwise it will burn.
- When your dal and rava turn little light brown in colour , then add our 200 ml saffron milk and 100 ml water in it along with 100 grams sugar and roasted almonds and pistachios and mix it well.
- Stir it until all the oil from halwa gets separated and it turns somehow brown in colour, it will take atleast 15 to 20 minutes. Stir it regularly otherwise it get stick to your pan.
- If it sticks with your pan add little desi ghee in regular intervals and then stir it , this will prevent it from sticking. Turn the gas flame off when your halwa starts separating oil from it. Congrats your halwa is fully ready. Eat is chilled or hot its all your choice.
