Cooking time: 45 minutes
Serves 3
Ingredients for bhatura :
Wheat flour (aata) 400 grams
Curd (dahi) 100 gramsBaking soda 1/2 teaspoon
Sugar 2 tsp
Salt a pinch
Oil 500 ml (for frying)
Instructions for bhatura :
- For making Bhatura take 400 grams of wheat flour in a bowl.
- Add 1/2 tsp baking soda, 2 tsp sugar, 1 pinch of salt to the flour and mix well.
- Add 100 grams curd and knead a soft dough from it. It will take you about 15 minutes to knead it.
- Pour 1 tbsp oil on the dough and leave it to rest for 10 to 15 minutes so that it will rise.
- After 15 minutes, break small pieces of dough and give it a round shape with the help of your hands so that it is easier for you to roll the bhatura. With this much flour you can prepare atleast 20 bhaturas.
- On the other side, heat 1/2 litre oil in a pan for frying.
- Put some drops of oil at rolling board and place a small piece of dough , then roll it in round shape with the help of rolling pin. Make a thin and round bhatura. Roll all the piece in a similar way.
- When the oil turns hot, turn it to medium flame so that your bhatura does not burn. To fry the bhaturas, put the bhatura comfortably in the pan and fry the bhatura till it turns reddish with the help of a spatula.
- Take the bhatura out of the pan and put it on the cooking paper so that it absorbs all the excess oil from bhaturas.
- Bhatura of wheat flour is ready. Serve it hot with chhola.
