Bhindi is literally known as lady finger in english as we all know. It is a green vegetable which is healthy for your health because it contains so much of nutrients in it. It is mainly eaten in India (Mera Bharat Mahan). It is a staple for all Indians as we consume it almost "once" in a ''week''.
Somewhere in India, it is also called okra. Obviously , it is one of the most famous and favourite vegetable of almost all of us.
One thing I want to say that we Indians are crazy about everything and we find fun in every moments and every situations , either it is lockdown or lockup :0
Today I am making crispy and tasty okra recipe in english. Okra can be made in various ways , either it is masala bhindi , crispy okra , or stuffed okra (bhindi) , gravy ladies finger, etc.
Don't worry I am not making all these, but one of these is my favourite and I want you to try it once.
So lets start preparing it and follow these simple steps. I am making masala bhindi (okra) step by step.

SERVES - 3
Key Ingredients for masala bhindi :
Lady fingers (okra or bhindi) 500 grams
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbsp
Finely chopped green chillies 2-3
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Asafoetida (Hing) 1 pinch
Maggi masala-e-magic 1 tsp (Optional)
How to make crispy masala bhindi ? :
- First of all wash the lady fingers properly and then wipe it off with a dry cloth.
- Washing and wiping is very important for making any vegetable because it removes some amount of pesticides and harmful chemicals from it.
- Cut the okras into 2-3 pieces into round shaped.
- Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan , add 1 pinch of asafoetida and finely chopped greeen chillies as well. Let it crackle.
- Add 1 tsp turmeric powder and chopped lady fingers into it and stir well.
- Do not cover the lid of the pan , otherwise the lady fingers will start separating water and your bhindi will turn out to be mushy.
- Cook it at high flame for 3-4 minutes and then keep the gas at low flame.
- Cook it for 15 to 20 minutes without covering at low flame and stir it time to time to make it slightly red , crispy and to prevent it from burning.
- You can cook it partially or fully according to your choice.
- Do not add salt in starting. Add salt at the end of cooking process. After 15 minutes add salt to taste and mix well.
- You can add a teaspoon of maggi masala-e-magic as per your choice. If you don't want it , you can skip it.
- For making restaurant style bhindi masala you can add some crushed kasuri methi also.
- Lady finger , bhindi or okra is ready to go. Serve it hot with rice , chappati etc.
- I suggest you to try it specially with rice and chappati.
